Xel Ha Playa Del Carmen Eco Park

Xel Ha is an amazing eco park new Playa Del Carmen. Just 30 miles away, close to the city of Tulum is reportedly the worlds largest natural aquarium. Originally a Mayan city, it was taken over by the Spanish during the times of the conquistadors, but ultimately reclaimed by the natives as they drove the invaders out.

Now this beautiful natural area is home to a stunning eco park. It’s great for the budget traveler who does not want to pay the $40 to get into Xcaret. Prices here are usually around $20 a day, with many good all inclusive packages available.

While at Xel Ha you can snorkel the reefs and feed the many tropical fishes that fill the lagoon. While the reef is mostly dead, the fish swarm here becaues the park feeds them. You can feed them as well if you like for 1 peso. If snorkeling is not your thing, you can borrow a free inner tube and float down the amazing river and see some stunning natural scenes that the Yucatan is famous for. You can even swim with the friendly dolphins.

There are also some fresh water cenotes on the park for you to explore and swim in, an experience you won’t soon forget. Hammocks, private beaches, and gorgeous trails abound so you and your family can easily spend a whole day or two in Xel Ha and never see all of it.

Xel Ha is certianly not to be missed on your next Playa Del Carmen Vacation.
